- St Cuthbert's Way, one of the most beautiful, varied and enjoyable long distance walking routes in Britain, and one of Scotland's Great Trails.
- The Northumberland Coastal Path is best known for its wide, sweeping beaches, backed by high sand dunes that are punctuated by dark whinstone outcrops. Amidst this striking landscape is the evidence of an area steeped in history, covering 7000 years of human activity. A host of conservation sites, including two National Nature Reserves, testify to the great variety of wildlife and habitats also found on the coast.
- The Sandstone Way is a new 120 miles / 192km (approx) mountain biking route between Berwick upon Tweed and Hexham along the Sandstone Ridge in North Northumberland linking numerous sandstone features, crags and outcrops.
